KRBL has started KRBL Agri-extention Division to help the farmers through agricluture practices to minimise cost of production and improve the quality of Basmanti crop. KRBL is the largest exporter of Basmati Rice in India for last 4 years. KRBl has been awarded with APEDA best exporter of India for last 3 consecutive years. KRBL started agri Division in Apil 2001 to initiate quality improvement programme in Basmati and support farmers with improved quality, better profit margins. KRBL Agri Division is also proceeding high yielding varity seeds of Basmati to distribute to the farmers in the entire growing region of Basmati in U.P.,Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. In the Kharif seasion of 2001. KRBL has produced in the supervision of its scientists three varieties of Basmati (Basmati BC-370, Basmati, Pusa Basmati -1). These seeds are certified by U.P state seeds certification agency in Lucknow. The seeds crop was impected on different growing stages by the seeds certification impector and seed certification officer by its regional office in Meerut. After harvesting the crop, seeds produce was stored in KRBL godown No.11 and fumigates a control as a safety precaution from insects and pests. KRBL Agri Division has setup autometic processing plant to ceal and create processing for seed. In the last week of Feb 2002 KRBL Agri Division has graded and produced the seed upto 1st week of April and bags one packed in the presence and supervision of seed certification agencies .The seed was treated with Streptomycin and carbondazine to control blast and blight. KRBL addtis have already got their licences from distrit agriculture officer/Deputy Director agriculture to sell its seeds where KRBL has no adits in Basmati growing oners, they are selling through seed dealers /distributor and KPK's.
