History
Picric was founded in 1992 under the inspiring leadership of its chairman Mr. Moni Varma and with the guidance and assistance of its parent company Veetee Rice Ltd, U.K founded in 1987. Within eight months the first commercial production of Basmati rice was achieved and in the first year of operations Picric was honoured with the status of Export House awarded by the Indian Government. Today Picric is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of Basmati rice in India.

Picric is located in a sprawling 32 acres complex in the heart of the rice growing belt on the historic Grant Trunk Road, near Sonepat, Haryana. The plant is equipped with state of the art machinery and is one of the most advanced units in India with processing capabilities of paddy for both raw and parboiled rice.
